Job Title: Clinical Research Principal Investigator

Location: Client’s Clinic

As a Principal Investigator, you will join our experienced, multi-disciplinary team at Client’s clinic, leveraging your medical expertise to actively participate in the planning and execution of clinical trials involving both patient and healthy volunteer populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review study protocols and Investigator Brochures to ensure subject safety and assess scientific and operational feasibility.
  • Prepare and submit Ethics applications and other regulatory documents as required, and attend Ethics committee meetings when requested.
  • Conduct physical examinations and ensure informed consent is obtained from participants.
  • Review screening data, ECGs, medical histories, and laboratory results before authorizing subject enrollment in studies.
  • Monitor safety data collected during studies, evaluate adverse events, and report serious adverse events in accordance with statutory guidelines.
  • Conduct end-of-study physical examinations and follow up on adverse events.
  • Review Case Report Forms and notify the Ethics committee upon study completion.
  • Provide technical and clinical expertise to support initiatives and inter-departmental goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, monitor industry trends, and participate in internal committees to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Foster and strengthen client relationships from the Principal Investigator perspective.
  • Represent the clinic in collaborative opportunities with regional research, clinical, and academic institutions, and build a network of physician specialists for study contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree with full GMC registration.
  • Current Advanced Life Support certification preferred; training will be provided.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-registration clinical experience.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical research (e.g., Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine) preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Principal Investigator in clinical research is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
  • Client provides medical malpractice coverage for clinical research activities.
